Job summary

As a Production and Supply Planner, reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a strategic role in ensuring efficient coordination between production and supply, optimizing processes through proactive management of material resources and workflows.
You will define production priorities based on availability and deadlines while providing daily tracking to meet customer commitments.

Candidate profile

Planning and Supply

  • Manage material requirements and production orders for projects or customer orders in the management software;
  • Inform the project team of material list changes to use available inventory;
  • Determine cutting patterns for aluminum extrusions;
  • Prioritize production based on material availability and delivery dates;
  • Monitor production daily to meet customer commitments and make adjustments in case of issues;
  • Reschedule production in case of priority changes;
  • Place purchase and subcontracting orders based on material requirements;
  • Track unconfirmed or delayed orders daily;
  • Coordinate pickup and transport of purchased goods with logistics;
  • Make necessary corrections to meet supply requirements (quality, on-time delivery, and costs);

Inventory and Planning Parameter Management

  • Optimize storage parameters to minimize stockouts and inventory levels;
  • Configure planning parameters in the management software;
  • Manage obsolete inventory flow during an engineering or product change;
  • Support the implementation of a multisite management process.
  • Handle returns to suppliers in case of non-compliant delivery;
  • Determine and maintain supply parameters by supplier (price, lead times, minimum quantity, batch size, etc.).

Estimation and Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate cost estimates with engineering, procurement, and production;
  • Maintain price lists and supplier parameters in the management software;
  • Estimate delivery times based on production workload and material availability;
  • Generate key planning and inventory management indicators (on-time delivery, inventory levels, stock turnover, etc.);
  • Identify improvement opportunities and propose adapted solutions;
  • Support the improvement of the planning system;
  • Participate in the implementation of a management parameter system.

 

Requirements

Skills and Desired Profile

  • DEC, Bachelor's, or any other relevant training related to operations management (administration, industrial engineering, logistics);
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements;
  • Experience in production planning in an industrial setting;
  • Experience with manufacturing management software (MRP);
  • Proficiency in MS Excel – Intermediate to advanced level;
  • Comfortable with multi-level nomenclature;
  • Knowledge of DDMRP concepts (an asset);
  • Resourcefulness, versatility, and strong adaptability;
  • Ability to identify and manage priorities;
  • Aptitude for fostering teamwork with other employees.
